Organic and Vegetarian Restaurant
Our restaurant is vegetarian with vegan options, local where possible, and rooted in the flavors of Guatemala’s highlands. Some ingredients come from nearby gardens and market stalls. Some herbs grow along the paths at MayAchik. Some recipes come from home kitchens, family memory, and the hands of our cooks.
You will find vegetarian and vegan dishes, fresh breakfasts, homemade sauces, warm tortillas, local vegetables, and meals that give you a reason to stay a little longer at the table.

The Hands Behind the Kitchen
Britney’s pancakes are remembered by guests who stay more than a few nights. Ana María’s cooking brings the comfort of a Guatemalan home kitchen to the table.
Our chefs work with simple ingredients and real care. If you are curious about how a dish is prepared, ask us. And if you would like to learn more, we can arrange a MayAchik cooking class with one of our chefs.

Wow, what an amazing place and great restaurant. The food was delicious and felt home made, and the portions were tremendous. I would eat every meal there and never get tired.
Hermoso ambiente para disfrutar de la naturaleza y descansar, el restaurante vegetariano / vegano muy rico!
Good selection of tasty meals made to order. I was staying at the attached EcoHotel so ate there several times. Staff are great. Try pupuses for a snack or burrito for a meal. Bit of a walk to the edge of town, about 10 mins from the centre, but worth it. Or just jump in a tuktuk.
I was traveling with vegetarian friends and the Tuk Tuk driver suggested this place. The food was perfectly prepared. I am not a vegetarian, but enjoyed the pizza and soup.
We went spontaneously after arriving at San Juan for breakfast. The restaurant is part of the eco- hotel within a park/ garden like environment. Everything is laid back, staff is super friendly. No view to Lake Atitlan. The food is fresh, prepared with care and love. We had the fruit and homemade granola and omelettes- delicious!
