You will learn to fish in the wonderful Lake Atitlán!
Learn traditional fishing techniques on Lake Atitlán with a local fisherman from San Juan La Laguna.
This one-hour tour takes you out on the lake in a canoe, a traditional wooden boat used by local fishermen. You will learn how fishing is practiced here and try some of the techniques that have been passed down through generations.
The tour is designed for one person, as each canoe has space for the guide and one guest. For couples, families, or small groups, we can organize several canoes with local fishermen so everyone can take part.
Guests may keep any fish they catch, but because MayAchik is a vegetarian space, fish cannot be cooked or prepared in our communal kitchen.
