Many members of our team are from San Juan La Laguna or nearby villages. Some have been part of MayAchik for years. Some helped shape the place through daily work that guests may never fully see: preparing breakfast early, cleaning bungalows with care, repairing water systems, answering messages, washing sheets, tending the garden, and welcoming guests after long travel days.
We hire locally whenever we can, offer ongoing training, and keep communication open and respectful among staff, volunteers, and management. The same care for resources that guides our operations, using less water and creating less waste, shapes how we work together.
When you arrive, these are the people who make the stay feel human.
